Join us on Saturday, Nov. 15, 2014 from 9 to 11 a.m. at Tradition Square for our “Walk the Walk” dog walk of approximately 1.5 miles around the lake in Tradition Square, a nice little scenic walk for you and your canine companions. Registration for the walk is $30, which will all go to the shelter.
Effective Wednesday, June 4, both shelters will be open to the public Tuesday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Both shelters will be closed Sunday and Monday. Pet adoptions stop one-half hour before closing on each day.
Spring has sprung, and with it comes “kitten season”, that inevitable time of year when un-spayed cats produce an overabundance of babies. Please visit one of our two shelters and adopt a cat today. If you are unable to keep a feline permanently, consider becoming a foster family.
Keep the memory of the loss of a beloved pet alive with the purchase of a brick paver at the tax-deductible cost of $100 per brick. The pavers are also a wonderful way to honor a much-loved living animal or human, or to memorialize a beloved person whose life impacted your own.
If you are at least 18 years old, have a little free time and a lot of love to spare, you may just be the perfect puppy or dog foster person the Humane Society of St. Lucie County is seeking.
