Looking to make a Tribute Gift? Make a gift in honor or in memory of a friend, family member or pet.

Gifts to the animals at the HSSLC are a terrific way to help fund our essential community programs and services for St. Lucie's animals.

Types of HSSLC tribute gifts

  • Memorials - honor people or companion animals that have passed away.
  • Birthdays - celebrate someone's special occasion by making a birthday gift or organizing a birthday party with donations to the HSSLC in lieu of birthday gifts.
  • Weddings - celebrate a couple's happy day by making a wedding gift or organize your wedding with donations to the HSSLC in lieu of wedding gifts or wedding favors.
  • Graduations - celebrate special educational accomplishments by making a gift to St. Lucie's animals.
  • Retirements or workplace anniversaries - celebrate special work accomplishments by making a gift to St. Lucie's animals.
  • Holidays - Christmas, Hanukkah, and more!

Memorial Gifts
Memoirs– for individuals and companion animals that have passed away. Make a gift to the animals in lieu of flowers or in memory of a companion animal that has passed away. A recognition of donation card is sent to the family and a thank you to the donor.

Honor someone you love by making a gift to the Humane Society in his or her name. Whether in celebration of a life lived or a tribute to someone dear to you, your gift is a powerful expression of your beliefs and values.

Why give a memorial gift?

  • Giving in memory of loved ones who have passed is a way to remember their own generosity and help them continue to make a difference in this world.
  • Send the deceased's family an acknowledgment card or have a memorial card given to them by the funeral home. In PayPal, just click "Add special instructions to seller" and provide your acknowledgment name(s) and address(es).
  • Donors receive a tax receipt for donations ($250 or over unless otherwise requested).

Birthdays
Make a gift to the animals in lieu of a birthday gift. We will send the birthday person a birthday card as well as send you a charitable tax receipt ($250 or over unless otherwise requested). If donating online, in PayPal, just click "Add special instructions to seller" and provide your acknowledgment name(s) and address(es).

Is it your birthday? Consider asking your guests to bring a donation for the Humane Society of St. Lucie County in lieu of birthday gifts.

Weddings
Celebrate a couple's happy day by making a wedding gift to the animals. We will send acknowledgment card to the happy couple as well as sending you a charitable tax receipt (over $250 unless otherwise requested). In PayPal, just click "Add special instructions to seller" and provide your acknowledgment name(s) and address(es).

For couples getting married:

  • Would you like to assist the 11,000 animals that we help every year? Consider asking your family, friends and coworkers to make wedding gifts to the animals at the HSSLC.
  • Instead of providing wedding favor to your guests, you can send the money normally spent on these gifts to our animals in need.
  • We can provide acknowledgment cards for your guests outlining your kind gesture. In PayPal, just click "Add special instructions to seller" and provide your acknowledgment name(s) and address(es).
Graduations
Make a gift to the animals in lieu of a graduation gift. We will send a congratulatory card to the graduate as well as sending you a charitable tax receipt ($250 or over unless otherwise requested). Retirement Gifts and Special Workplace Anniversaries

Holidays - Christmas, Hanukkah & more!
Make a holiday donation to the animals. We will send a special holiday card to the person of your choice indicating that a gift has been made in their honor. We will also send you a charitable tax receipt ($250 or over unless otherwise requested).
